The North Meadow National Nature Reserve in Cricklade, home to the rare Snakeshead Fritillary, is to benefit from grant funding from Wiltshire Council Area Board.

Snake’s-head fritillaria are incredibly rare in the UK and the 24.6 hectares field in Cricklade represents more than 80 per cent of the entire country’s population of the flowers.

The grant will be used to create a series of interpretation points around the meadow which will allow visitors to use their phones to connect to a website which will provide more detailed information about the flora, fauna, conservation and management of North Meadow.
