Rangers

Every year, our Rangers carry out hundreds of different jobs around the Park. They maintain footpaths, erect fences, repair banks, plant reeds, clear undergrowth, manage nature reserves, rescue wildfowl, pick up litter, and generally keep the Park tidy.

They also do contract work for local authorities and landowners - such as hedge laying, footpath maintenance and water sampling.

Their main task is managing & improving the Park’s key public access points. They maintain Keynes Country Park, Coke's Pit, Neighbridge, Shorncote reedbeds, Cleveland Lakes, the disused railway line, the Gateway Centre, plus four more car parks and picnic sites, and 50 km of footpaths.

In the next few years, we hope to purchase more lakes, and develop another country park, so the rangers will be even busier.
