About the Cotswold Water Park Society

How We Are Funded

Funding

The Society receives core funding from the Cotswold Water Park Joint Committee (CWPJC).

Allocation of core funding;

  • 31% of Biodiversity Service running costs
  • 36% of Keynes Country Park management costs
  • 63% of the management costs for 5 car park and picnic sites throughout the Cotswold Water Park
  • 27% of promotion and marketing costs
  • 40% of costs in helping devise a master plan for the Cotswold Water Park
  • 36% of costs liaising and working with the CWPJC

The rest of the costs are met through income generated from entrance fees at Keynes Country Park, membership subscriptions, and commercial enterprises including the Gateway Centre, the shop at Keynes Country Park, hiring out BBQ pitches and leases from concession holders.

Biodiversity, Conservation, Sport and Recreation and Sustainability projects are funded through grants from statutory agencies including the Countryside Agency and Natural England. As the Society is registered as a environmental body, it is also able to benefit from the landfill tax credit scheme.

Since 1996, the Society has injected an additional £6 million into the area through grants.
