Designed as the main visitor focus and key information point for the Cotswold Water Park, this spectacular building is constructed from sustainable green oak, and is a beacon for sustainable rural development in the South West.

Based on an energy efficient and sustainable design, it has one of the largest solar roofs in the South West. Heat pumps recycle rainwater and create energy for the visitor centre using the embodied energy of the lake.

It offers the excellent Coots’ Café, serving homemade, freshly prepared lunches, plus a delicious range of cakes and biscuits. On display are exhibitions of Archaeology, Geology, Wildlife and Sustainability, including the amazing 50,000 year old mammoth skull, found in Ashton Keynes, in a quarry owned by Moreton C Cullimore Ltd.

The staff at the Gateway Centre will be pleased to help with any enquiries regarding activities, accommodation and locations within the Cotswold Water Park. You can also find a wealth of information about many other tourist activities and sites within the Gloucestershire and Wiltshire regions.

With its large car park, Cotswold Outdoor shop, and easy access to the canal, footpath and cycle way network, the Gateway Centre is a popular base for walkers, cyclists and bird-lovers.
