Countryside Access

The Cotswold Water Park Society employs a team of rangers year round to manage and maintain all of the public access sites across all 40 square miles of the Cotswold Water Park.


Society’s main objectives

  • To develop greater public access
  • To improve the natural environment by delivering an agreed biodiversity action plan
  • To provide greater opportunities for recreation and sport, particularly water sports
  • To promote sustainable development throughout the Water Park

The Cotswold Water Park Society employs a team of rangers year round to manage and maintain all of the public access sites across all 40 square miles of the Cotswold Water Park. These include:

  • Keynes Country Park
  • Gateway Centre
  • Neighbridge
  • 5 car park and picnic sites
  • Disused railway line
  • Shorncote Reedbed
  • Cokes Pit Nature Reserve
  • 50 km’s of footpaths

The team work year round to maintain all of these sites for local residents, visitors and wildlife. Duties include footpath maintenance, habitat management, coppicing, lakeside erosion repair, health and safety inspections and litter picking.
