World Wetlands Day Walk Feb 1 0208

Walkers in wellies turn out for Wetlands Day celebration

On Saturday, which was World Wetlands Day, more than 50 people turned out to join Dr Simon Pickering of the CWPS, to take part in a guided walk around the lakes near Ashton and Somerford Keynes.
From age 4 - 74, people of all ages enjoyed the walk, through frozen puddles, sinking mud and wet grass, and saw a great variety of winter birds along the way, including smew, scaup, goosander, little egret, herons and wigeon.
For a full report on the sightings, go to the CWPS Bird Blog.
