Entrance to disused railway track

Railway track partially closed for electricity work

From Monday 24th September for a period of up to 12 weeks, Scottish and Southern Electricity (SSE) will be laying a new power line along the route of the disused railway line from Cricklade to the Spine Road.
Although there will be a formal closure order along the whole route SSE will keep open the sections they are not working on.
SSE are working closely with the Cotswold Water Park Society to ensure the works are carried out at a time of year and in an appropriate way so as to minimise the impact on wildlife and people who use this route.
Completion of these works will mean an elimination of the frequent power disruption in the Western Water Park which has in the past been due to failure of the overhead power lines.
