Volunteers cutting back reedbed

Volunteer rangers required for winter work programme

Volunteer Rangers required

Why not become a Cotswold Water Park volunteer ranger and help conserve an important area for wildlife?

The area is nationally important for wintering and breeding birds as well as regionally significant for many other species of birds, dragonflies damselflies, bats and water voles. Covering an area of over 40 square miles, the task of maintaining the habitats for this wildlife is huge and one in which the rangers of the Cotswold Water Park Society are heavily involved. But this is where you can help! If you have an interest in wildlife, the outdoors, and enjoy physical activity, and can spare a few hours each month between October - May, then we would love to hear from you.
Tasks such as coppicing, fencing, and survey work are all undertaken by volunteers and without them much of this work just would not be completed.

If you would like to find out more, we are holding a ‘drop in’ session at Keynes Country Park near Cirencester from 10.30am - 12.30pm on Saturday 06th October, so do call in for an informal chat. Everyone over the age of 16 is welcome. Alternatively please call Chris Walker on 01285 868097 for further details.
