Still waters run very clear!
Clear lake waters reveal monsters of the deep at Keynes Park
The clarity of the water in Lake 32 at Keynes Country Park has recently been attracting plenty of attention, mainly from local fishermen hoping to spot their next catch.
The underwater residents of the lake, mainly carp and bream, have been seen swimming in the crystal clear waters, right next to the boardwalk, looking for food amongst the gravel. The size of these fish tends to take visitors by surprise, as there are plenty of fish in the lake weighing over 30lbs!
For children to be able to see a swan reaching down under the water with its long slender neck gives them such a clear idea of what they are doing when they go 'bottoms up'!
Why not come along on a sunny day and have a look for yourself - the bext time to see the fish is around midday when the sun is shing on the gravel bottom of the lake.
Calling all photographers - if you have taken a stunning picture of the carp, then we will be very happy to feature it on the website! Just email jill.bewley@waterpark.org with your JPEGs.
