THE EARLY-BIRD WALK

Sunday June 14, 8am

Why not make the most of these glorious light mornings? Come out on Sunday June 14th at 8am on a guided walk with Director of Estates and Rangers Ali Swainston and experience the wildlife world waking up.

Ali will be taking the first guided walk along a new section of footpath at Cleveland Lakes, and having a look and listen at what wildlife is around. He will also explain the future plans for Cleveland, the work that has been achieved so far and what benefits this has created for wildlife, particularly the bird life.

The walk is free for anyone who turns up, and you do not need to book – just meet Ali at Waterhay Car Park near Ashton Keynes just before 8am on Sunday June 14th – the walk will last about two to three hours, and you can still be home in time for coffee!

Please bring binoculars if you have any, and dress appropriately for the weather whatever it will be on that day!

Any queries please email events@waterpark.org

BIRD RINGING DEMONSTRATION

Sunday 02 August 7.30AM - 10.30AM

Learn more about the breeding birds of the Cotswold Water Park, and see them up close and personal. The Cotswold Water Park Ringing Group will be giving a demonstration of bird ringing in which you will be able to see Reed Warblers, Sedge Warblers, Whitethroats and Robins amongst others !

Come along at anytime between 07.30am and 10.30am on Sunday 17th May and watch the ringers at work - the earlier you are there the more you will see!

Park at Waterhay Car Park near Ashton Keynes and walk eastwards along the Thames Path towards the Waterhay Bird Hide ( the first one along the Thames Path from the car park) - you will see the ringers there.

The event is free but donations towards the work of the CWP Ringing Group are always welcome.

GUIDED WALK FOR EARLY BIRDS!

Sunday June 14th, 8am

What better way to start one of the longest days of the year with a wildlife walk and still be home in time for brunch! Come and join Ali Swainston, Director of Estates for the Cotswold Water Park, on a guided walk along the shores of Cleveland Lakes, exploring the recently opened footpath which takes you down to the Reed Hide and the Thames Path. Along the way there should be some great opportunities for seeing warblers, waders, herons, grebes and some great ducks such as the tufted duck.
Bring binoculars.
If you would like to reserve a place on the walk and find out the meeting place please email events@waterpark.org.
