This nature reserve, managed by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, is situated in the Eastern section, just north of Lechlade. The shallow lakes are home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, in particular fifteen species of dragonfly and damselfly.

What to see

With a rich variety of flora, including Bee orchids, Southern Marsh orchids, plus a diverse range of dragonflies and damselflies in the summer months, this reserve provides a home for a stunning variety of wildlife thoughout the year. Birdwatchers will be rewarded with their patience in the bird hide, as regular visitors include great crested grebe, sedge warblers, whitethroat and kingfishers.
A visit in winter could well include sightings of fieldfare, brambling, wigeon, pochard and teal.
