Walks

Heading off the beaten track

With over 40km of public footpaths, the Cotswold Water Park is a great place to get off the beaten track and explore some of the hidden countryside.

Maps

Ordnance Survey Landranger map ref 169 covers the whole area, and provides clear details on the public footpaths.

The Cotswold Water Park Society has published a map "Access Map 20010/11' which is available to download or can be picked up from local Tourist Information Centres, and the Gateway Centre. This map shows all the public footpaths, bridleways, cycle routes and car parks for the whole of the Cotswold Water Park.

Dogs

Please be aware that there are plenty of places where dogs can be let off the lead, but as there are many ground nesting birds in the area, particularly in quarries, during nesting season ( ie May - September) it is advisable to keep your dog on a lead and keep to the public footpaths. (Disturbance of protected species is a prosecutable offence.)

Guided Walks

The Cotswold Water Park Society runs guided walks throughout the year, taking in some peaceful places and wildlife rich lakes, so if you would like to join one of the guided walks please look at the Events page to see what is happening or email events@waterpark.org to be put on the mailing list.
